I know that sounds cliche, but I promise getting involved with student organizations early freshman year will make your time at UGA so much more enjoyable. Don't be afraid to join a club or organization alone either, most students at UGA are extremely welcoming and want to meet new people.

What makes UGA special to you?UGA is special because every student and staff member truly makes Athens feel like a second home. I have never felt so welcomed to a campus and I have never once doubted my decision to come here. Why UGA?I chose UGA because of the endless opportunities the university has to offer. From great academics to great athletics, UGA has everything that a college should offer! Favorite or most impactful UGA experience?My most impactful UGA experience was when I volunteered for the Campus Kitchen at the UGArden. I was able to pack food grown by UGA students that is given back to the Athens community. After I packed the food, I joined a delivery route to hand deliver the food bags to those in the community. It was great to meet more local members in Athens and also see how UGA directly gives back to the state of Georgia. Favorite UGA class?ACCT2102H with Dr. Ramalingegowda. This class focused on managerial accounting and Dr. R did a great job of keeping the class engaging and efficient. Also, the class being an honors course allowed me to become closer and more collaborative with my classmates. Favorites
How has UGA prepared you for your next step after graduation?I was able to connect with recruiters through Terry Employer of the Day. From these connections I was able to better prepare for interviews and learn more about internship roles. UGA alumni are also always open to helping you get or prepare for an interview.

Why UGA?I choose UGA because of its vibrant student life, study away opportunities, and emphasis on ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for all students. I can definitely say it has been an amazing choice! Favorite or most impactful UGA experience:My most impactful experience at UGA was being a part of the Student Government Association's Connect First Year Program, as the people in the program quickly became like family to me and have continued to love and support me throughout college. Favorite UGA class:PHIL 2500: Symbolic Logic (sort of like philosophy math). Traditionally, I am not the best with subjects that tend to be more math-based. However, I enjoyed the class because of the learning environment the TA cultured. The TA was a constant source of support during the course which encouraged me to try my best and ask for help when I was struggling. Favorites

Most Impactful UGA ExperienceOne of my most impactful UGA experiences is my time in Student Government's First-Year Program, Forum. Forum was an amazing way for me to get involved on campus but also was a great way for me to meet people from all over with different backgrounds, interests, and majors. Forum taught me a lot about Athens and UGA, and it introduced me to so many amazing people, most of whom are still my closest friends. Favorite UGA ClassMBUS3010: Introduction to Music Business. This course was challenging but was so enlightening. This was one of the first times I truly felt inspired to pursue a specific career. The course taught me so much about the important fundamentals of the music business industry and helped me on the right career path. Favorites

Favorite or most impactful UGA experience:During my freshman year, I was a member of SGA Connect. It presented some challenges but helped me build community and navigate through my freshman year. It was the catalyst for my involvement. Favorite UGA class:ALDR 3900S: Leadership and Service was one of my favorite classes. We explored our personalities through different assessments like CliftonStrengths and we volunteered at a site of our choosing where I served at U-Lead Athens. The class also had wonderful professors who made the experience even more meaningful. Favorites

Most Impactful UGA ExperienceThe most impactful experience I have had here at UGA would be performing in Sanford Stadium for the first time as a Georgette! Favorite UGA ClassSOWK 2154: Introduction to Social Work. This course really affirmed to me that I made the right choice when changing my major from Psychology to Social Work. We were able to hear from guest speakers each week and see their roles in the field of social work. This really opened my eyes to the great need for social workers in our country as well as the many opportunities and roles present within this field. Why UGA?I chose UGA because of the high value placed on student connection as well as endless opportunities, including study abroad trips specific to my majors, in addition to the rich culture of music and art that is present in Athens itself. I was waitlisted at the University of Georgia in 2024. Some might attribute my acceptance on the final day of waitlist reviews to luck, but I believe in the principle of the Roman philosopher Seneca, who said, "Luck is the result of preparation meeting opportunity." Whether you are accepted early action, regular admission, from the waitlist, or a transfer student, we are all bulldogs who have a heart for excellence and an unwavering UGA spirit!

Favorite or most impactful UGA experience:My favorite UGA experience has been cheering at my first Georgia game as a University of Georgia Cheerleader. Stepping onto the field in front of 93,000 passionate fans was an unforgettable adrenaline rush that was both humbling and exhilarating. Favorite UGA class:Yoruba 1010! I grew up in an intercultural household that equally celebrates my father’s Nigerian culture and my mother’s American culture. While my childhood was unique, one vital missing piece was my knowledge of the Yoruba language. The Yoruba 1010 class allowed to celebrate and learn the language of my family in a small social classroom environment. I loved this class because it not only enhanced my knowledge and understanding of my heritage, but also my professor and classmates became my second family away from home. Favorites
How has UGA prepared you for your next step after graduation?UGA has provided me with the knowledge, experience, and confidence to pursue my goal of attending law school and working in sports and entertainment. Through both my coursework and the opportunities I've had outside of the classroom, I've developed the skills needed to succeed in a competitive career. My professors consistently challenge me to think critically, communicate effectively, and approach problems from different perspectives. UGA has also taught the importance of professionalism, leadership, and standing out through initiative and meaningful connections.
